AICHI (TR) – A man discovered possible human bones on Sunday while visiting his missing father’s vacant home in Kasugai City.
The man, the 50-year-old second son of his father Haruho Wakao, 82, notified officers at the Kasugai Police Station after discovering what appeared to be human bones in the yard of Haruho’s vacant home at around 1 p.m. in the Kashiwai area, the Mainichi Shimbun reports (July 10).
An investigation has been opened into the possibility there was an incident.
Police said Haruho, whose whereabouts have been unknown since a few years ago, was once living in the home with his eldest son, who died in April at the age of 53. The home became vacant after his death.
Haruho’s second son was visiting the vacant home to clean when he discovered the possible human bones in the yard.
