TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have raided the headquarters of a second-tier gang of Yamaguchi-gumi on suspicion of bank fraud, reports TV Asahi (July 1).
On Thursday morning, police entered Kokusui-kai, located in the Senzoku area of Taito Ward, in search of evidence connected to the defrauding of a financial institution three years ago.
In January of 2013, Kazuo Ishii, a 52-year-old Yamaguchi-gumi executive, allegedly concealed his gang affiliation and presented a fake contract to a financial institution in order to obtain a loan of more than 100,000 yen for the purchase of items.
Ishii denies the charges. “I had nothing to do with it,” the suspect is quoted.
