OSAKA (TR) – There is about one month to go until Christmas. However, a “Grinch” has already emerged in Osaka City, reports Fuji News Network (Nov. 20).
Security camera footage shows a man damaging a Christmas display outside a home in the early morning hours of November 17.
In the footage, the man, unsteady on his feet, approaches an illuminated snowman and Santa Claus as he walks along the sidewalk in front of the home.
As he passes, the man grabs the snowman’s red and green scarf and forcefully pulls it down onto the sidewalk, breaking it into pieces.
“It was about 2.5 meters tall,” the owner of the home tells the network. “I put it up about a week ago. It cost about 40,000 yen.”
The owner later contacted police. He was planning to submit a formal report after November 21.
“I was looking forward to putting it up, and I’m angry that [the man] did something so terrible. It makes me so angry,” he said.
