OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police have served a fresh arrest warrant on a 44-year-old unemployed man for allegedly extorting and sexually assaulting a high school girl engaged in compensated dating, or papakatsu.
According to the Mainichi Shimbun (July 30), Hisanori Hashimoto, a resident of Higashiosaka City already indicted on attempted coercion charges, was re-arrested on Thursday on suspicion of non-consensual intercourse and illicit photography.
Police have not disclosed whether he has admitted to the allegations.

According to the Sonezaki Police Station, Hashimoto met the teenage victim via social media in August 2025. During their initial encounter, he photographed her identification card. He later sent her threatening messages, demanding, “If you don’t meet me, I’ll tell your parents and your school.” He then allegedly forced the girl into a hotel where he sexually assaulted her and filmed the act.
Investigators revealed that Hashimoto specifically targeted girls seeking papakatsu arrangements online. His predatory tactics involved securing photos of their IDs and faces, and then secretly following them home to photograph their residences to use as leverage for blackmail.
“Do you think it’s okay to do papakatsu? I’ll expose you,” he reportedly told victims, forcing some to endure multiple sexual assaults under the threat of being outed to their families.
The latest charges emerged during an ongoing investigation triggered by a separate complaint from another teenage girl, which led to Hashimoto being arrested twice between May and June 2026 for attempted coercion and non-consensual intercourse.
Upon confiscating Hashimoto’s smartphone, police discovered photo and video data of more than a dozen other women. Authorities suspect he is a serial offender and are continuing their investigation to corroborate further crimes.
