SHIGA (TR) – Shiga Prefectural Police suspect that the burglaries of 11 businesses over a 16-hour period, including 10 hair salons, were carried out by a pair of thieves, reports ABC News (Dec. 30).
According to police, between 6:35 p.m. on the December 29 and 10:30 a.m. the following day, the perpetrators stole cash and safes from 10 hair salons in Otsu, Takashima, Koka, and Omihachiman cities. A restaurant in Koka City was also burglarized.
Approximately 1.7 million yen in cash and safes were stolen, police said.
As all the thefts were carried out after closing time. The methods used were similar, including gaining entry by prying open the entrance window.
Police are investigating the incidents as likely the work of the same perpetrator.
Security cameras from some of the businesses captured footage of the two individuals wearing ski masks. Police are analyzing the footage to track down the perpetrators.
