KAGAWA (TR) – A 30-year-old contract employee on trial for secretly putting his urine into a female coworker’s drink appeared in court on Wednesday, where he denied having any sexual motive in carrying out the crime.
During his first hearing at the Takamatsu District Court, the defendant, a resident of Kanonji City, largely admitted to the physical act but contested the indecency charge, reports KSB Setonaikai Broadcasting (Apr. 8).
The unnamed man stands accused of causing property damage and non-consensual indecency.
At the hearing, he contested the latter charge. “I put it in with the intention of getting revenge,” the man claimed, maintaining that his actions were not sexually driven.
The presence or absence of “sexual intent” is expected to be the primary point of contention in the trial.
According to the indictment, the incident occurred on January 4 at a commercial facility in Takamatsu City where both individuals were employed. When the female colleague, who is in her 20s, briefly stepped away from her desk, the defendant allegedly poured his urine into her half-consumed plastic bottle of black tea.
The act came to light when the woman returned, took a sip of the tampered beverage, and noticed an abnormal taste. She immediately alerted local police, leading to an investigation that confirmed the presence of urine in the drink.
