TOKYO — The pioneer of the so-called “Heisei-era big breasts boom” is back.
Gravure legend Kaori Ohara will be the subject of her first photo book in 22 years, proving her voluptuous figure remains as explosive as ever at the age of 50.
Publisher Futabasha announced on Monday that the highly anticipated book will hit shelves on May 20.
Ohara debuted in 1996, quickly dominating men’s magazines and late-night television. She gained nationwide notoriety for her appearances on provocative variety programs such as TV Tokyo’s “Shutsudo! Minisuka Police” and the infamous “Gilgamesh Night.”

Her trademark H-cup bust sparked a massive craze, cementing her as a household name among Japan’s gravure fans.
To mark her 30th anniversary in show business and her recent 50th birthday, Ohara — who reverted her stage name back to “Kaori Ohara” late last year — is holding nothing back.
According to the publisher, the new release is her most ambitious and revealing project yet. Combined with a mature sex appeal, the 84-cut book promises to shock longtime fans with bold wardrobe choices and daring shots that push the boundaries further than ever, reportedly coming dangerously close to exposing her bust top.
Selected cuts from the upcoming photo book will be teased in the May 11-18 double issue of Shukan Taishu, hitting newsstands on April 27.
A Tokyo native, Ohara currently boasts measurements of 95-58-88.
