TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Thursday raided a massage parlor in the Kanda area of Chiyoda Ward for licensing violations, reports TV Asahi (Sept. 26).
Officers took Toshiyuki Namba, the 66-year-old manager of Akizakura (Cosmos), a Chinese female, 45, and one other employee for allegedly offering customers sexual services as administered by Chinese masseuses in private rooms — a violation of the Law Regulating Adult Entertainment Businesses.
Namba has reportedly denied the allegations. “I am not involved in management of this shop,” the suspect is quoted by police. However, the Chinese national has admitted to the charges.
According to police, Akizakura, which is located near JR Kanda Station, collected 36 million yen in revenue over the past 20 months.
In December of last year, law enforcement entered Akizakura and warned management about its operations. However, officers found a male office worker in his 40s receiving illicit services from a masseuse inside the parlor earlier this month.
