CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police are investigating what is believed to have been a suicide after a woman was stuck and killed by a train in in Noda City, reports Fuji News Network (Aug. 31).
At 11:20 a.m. on August 31, the woman, aged in her teens or 20s, squatted down on the tracks of the Tobu Noda Line between Nanakodai and Kawama stations before being struck my a local train.
After seeing the woman, the driver of the train applied an emergency break but could not avoid striking her.
The woman was not carrying any items. Police are now working to confirm her identity.
