CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police have arrested a 25-year-old office worker for allegedly hitting a man with his vehicle and dragging him down the street during a violent road rage dispute last month, reports Fuji News Network (Sep. 8).
Takumi Fujimura was taken into custody following a traffic altercation in the town of Nagara that quickly escalated into a shocking display of violence. According to police, the incident began when Fujimura engaged in aggressive driving, tailgating the vehicle in front of him and repeatedly sounding his horn.
When the 30-year-old male driver of the targeted vehicle stepped out onto the road, Fujimura allegedly stepped on the gas and deliberately rear-ended the man’s car.
Fujimura then struck the victim directly, launching the man onto the hood of his vehicle, before ramming the victim’s car a second time.
The violence did not end there. When the battered victim approached Fujimura’s vehicle again, the suspect allegedly reached out from the driver’s seat, grabbed the man’s right arm, and threw his car into reverse. Police believe Fujimura continued to drive while dragging the helpless man alongside the moving vehicle.
The victim sustained severe injuries in the assault, including a fractured left shoulder blade.
Upon his arrest on suspicion of attempted murder, Fujimura admitted to the physical acts but denied allegations of attempted murder.
“I rammed into him and grabbed his arm to drag him with the intention of threatening him,” the suspect told investigators, maintaining that he had no intent to kill.
