CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of human body parts in a reservoir in Nagareyama City, reports Fuji News Network (Dec. 2).
At around 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, a working cutting grass near a regulating reservoir tipped off police about “what looks like skeletal remains of a person.”
Officers arriving the sign found a thigh bone. After searching in the same area, they also discovered a skull and torso. Pants and other clothes were also found.
The age and gender of the body was not known.
Police are now working to identify the corpse. They are treating the case as the result of foul play or an accident.
