Shinjuku prostitution club busted, served 70-year-old customer
The manager of club Love and Peace, Tatsuo Horie, was arrested
TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Monday raided a Shinjuku club located inside a one-room apartment building in the Okubo area and arrested its manager on prostitution charges, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Nov. 21).

Officers from the peace preservation division took the manager of club Love and Peace, Tatsuo Horie, 45, into custody for employing four female employees to supply sexual services to three male customers, one of whom was 70 years old — a violation of the Anti-Prostitution Law.

Horie has reportedly admitted to the allegations. “I thought it was an easy way to make money,” the suspect is quoted by police.

According to investigators, Horie distributed leaflets and utilized word of mouth to recruit customers to Love and Peace, which charged 16,000 yen per session. Since the club opened in the fall of 2009, it has generated 140 million yen in revenue.

TBS News says that, in order to evade a bust, customers were instructed by mobile phone to go to two or three other locations initially before finally reaching the club’s final destination.
