TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Wednesday announced the busting of two out-call sex clubs operating in the Shibuya district, reports the Sankei Shimbun (June 13).
Officers from the peace preservation division took Seiji Osakabe (37), the manger of clubs Jukebox and Aoyama Bijo Hyakkei, and 14 other employees into custody for violating the Anti-Prostitution Law.
The clubs dispatched the 110 female employees on its books to waiting customers. Advertising literature from the establishments claimed them to be of the highest quality in the city, and staffed with ladies who have endured stringent interview processes.
According to promotional Web sites, fees typically start between 23,000 and 35,000 yen for approximately one hour of services. Yet a service extending for 20 hours can be purchased for 650,000 yen, and another featuring 300 minutes with a top celebrity can be had for 1.5 million yen.
Since 1999, according to Nikkan Gendai, the clubs racked up a customer list that includes 18,600 names. Sales totaled three billion yen over that period.
Officers were alerted to the violations between the end of April and early this month, when five female employees were observed being sent to waiting customers at hotels in the Shibuya area.
