Yokohama woman accused in fatal stabbing of boyfriend ‘did not intend to kill’

KANAGAWA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police have arrested a 65-year-old woman over the alleged fatal stabbing of a man believed to be her boyfriend at her home in Yokohama City on Thursday.

At around 1 a.m., Miyuki Endo, a part-time worker, is alleged to have stabbed the man in the chest with what appeared to be a knife at the residence in Hodogaya ward.

The man died at the hospital where he was taken, the Hodogaya Police Station said, reports NHK (Nov. 28).

After the incident, the suspect called police, “We got into a fight and I stabbed him with a knife.” Officers who arrived at the scene found the man collapsed and bleeding on the ground.

Upon her arrest on suspicion of attempted murder, Endo said, “I stabbed him, but I did not intend to kill.”

The charge has since been changed to murder, with police seeking a motive for the crime.
