HOKKAIDO (TR) – Hokkaido Prefectural Police have arrested a 69-year-old American man over the alleged assault of a male staff member at a commercial sex parlor in Sapporo City earlier this month, reports Hokkaido News (Feb. 11).
At around 3:20 p.m. on February 3, the unnamed man is suspected of ramming the male staff member inside a multi-tenant building in Susukino that houses the sex business. The suspect then threw the staff member down a set of stairs from the fourth floor to the third floor.
The male staff member suffered minor injuries, including a sprained neck and bruises to his limbs, head and chest, police said.
According to police, the unnamed man lives in Thailand and does not speak Japanese. He is in Japan on tourist visa. Upon his arrest on suspicion of assault resulting in injury, he partially denied the allegations.
Prior to the incident, the man visited the shop as a customer and engaged in prohibited acts. The assault took place when the male employee stood in the suspect’s way as he fled.
“We warned the American man, but he became violent and injured an employee,” a staff member said when alerting police.
The man then traveled to the international ski resort of Niseko. Police located him at his accommodation on February 6.
