TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a dance instructor after he allegedly planted a hidden camera in a restroom to film female students, reports Nippon News Network (Nov. 5).
Hiroyuki Sakuma, 42, was taken into custody following the discovery of a small camera inside a dance studio in Adachi Ward. According to investigative sources, the device was concealed behind a hand towel in the restroom, aimed at capturing tosatsu (voyeur) footage of students using the facility.
The investigation began in August after another student noticed the suspicious device and reported it to staff, leading to the discovery of the camera.

During questioning, Sakuma reportedly admitted to the act, telling police he had filmed in the restroom “about three times” to “satisfy [his] sexual desires.” However, he has partially denied the allegations, claiming that his intended targets were adult women, not the children who were filmed.
Police searching the suspect’s smartphone uncovered multiple other videos, suggesting a wider pattern of illicit filming. Tokyo police are currently analyzing the devices to determine the full extent of his activities.
