KANAGAWA (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a former daycare worker on suspicion of surreptitiously filming naked children at the facility where he was employed, reports Nippon News Network (Nov. 5).
Kaoru Yamamoto, 30, stands accused of using his smartphone to take tosatsu footage of young boys in various states of undress while working at a daycare center in Sagamihara City in 2024.
The investigation was triggered after authorities in Japan received a tip-off from a U.S.-based social media company regarding suspected child pornography. The firm alerted Japanese police after detecting illicit content linked to Yamamoto’s accounts.

Upon questioning, Yamamoto reportedly admitted to the allegations, telling investigators that he had developed a “sexual attraction to toddlers.”
Police discovered more than 70 images of young boys stored in the cloud associated with Yamamoto’s social media profile. Authorities believe the suspect targeted at least 20 children under his care.
Police are continuing their investigation into the extent of the abuse.
