Tokyo executive, doctor not prosecuted over alleged in sexual assault of teen at party

TOKYO (TR) – Prosecutors have announced the non-prosecution of three men, including a doctor from Nagoya and an executive from the capital’s Shibuya Ward, over the alleged sexual assault of a girl at a parety earlier this year, reports Nippon News Network (Aug. 18).

The incident occurred in the early hours of April 19 inside a room at an accommodation facility in Bunkyo Ward. All three faced charges of non-consensual sexual intercourse.

On Tuesday, the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office announced the non-prosecution of the three.

“The decision not to prosecute was made after considering the relevant evidence and all surrounding circumstances,” prosecutors said in a statement.

During the event, the suspects gave the girl highballs and shots of liqueur to drink. The men are accused of taking advantage of the teenage victim while she was highly intoxicated.

The assault took place after a mixer that had been promoted as an “elite gathering for doctors and business executives,” which began at the facility around 9:00 p.m. the previous evening. A total of five men and five women, including the three suspects and the victim, were in attendance.
