Tokyo man arrested for kidnapping teen girl to love hotel, filming obscene acts

TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 42-year-old self-employed man on suspicion of kidnapping a girl in her early teens, taking her to a love hotel, and filming himself committing obscene acts with her, reports TBS News (Aug. 18).

Shingo Yoneda, a resident of Setagaya Ward, is accused of kidnapping the girl for obscene purposes and committing non-consensual sexual intercourse on July 22 in Akishima City.

According to investigative sources, the two became acquainted around May of this year after Yoneda sent a message in response to a post the girl made on social media. They met in person for the first time on the day of the alleged crime.

The case unraveled on July 27 when the girl’s mother called emergency services, reporting that her daughter had gone out and could not be reached. Police tracked the girl’s location to a room in an Akishima love hotel and raided the premises.

Officers found Yoneda and the girl together inside the room and arrested him on the spot on suspicion of non-consensual sexual intercourse. Subsequent questioning and an analysis of Yoneda’s smartphone brought the initial incident five days before to light.

During police interrogation, Yoneda has remained silent regarding the allegations.

Investigators discovered approximately 200 obscene images and videos on the suspect’s smartphone, which they believe he filmed himself. Police are currently investigating the device to determine if he is involved in multiple other similar offenses.
