Tokyo man arrested for stealing women’s underwear says he did it to ‘relieve stress’

TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 34-year-old company employee for allegedly breaking into a Tokyo home and stealing women’s underwear while the resident was asleep, reports Nippon News Network (July 15).

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, Noritaka Furiya is accused of trespassing into a residence in Akishima City this past May and making off with eight items of women’s underwear, valued at approximately 4,000 yen.

Investigators allege Furiya slipped into the detached house through an unlocked front door. Taking advantage of the sleeping resident, he rummaged through a chest of drawers to steal the garments before fleeing the scene.

Upon his arrest, Furiya fully admitted to the allegations.
