TOKYO (TR) – Popular adult video (AV) actress Mai Fujisaki has issued a public apology following revelations that she was arrested and deported from Taiwan for engaging in prostitution.
On June 7, the actress took to X to apologize to her fans and sponsors. “I deeply apologize for the concern and trouble caused by recent reports regarding my careless actions,” she wrote. Her agency is currently in discussions to review and potentially cancel her upcoming shoots and event appearances.
Because her apology deliberately omitted the nature of the “recent reports,” many fans were left in the dark. In reality, the actress had been busted by Taiwanese authorities in a high-profile prostitution sting, reports News Post Seven (June 10).

Bodycam footage
According to a journalist familiar with the case, Taiwanese media heavily covered Fujisaki’s arrest, which took place around November of last year at a business hotel in Taipei’s Shilin District.
Police raided the hotel room shortly after Fujisaki and a male client had finished engaging in sexual acts. During questioning at the scene, both admitted to the transaction. The client reportedly paid 35,000 New Taiwan Dollars (over 170,000 yen) for her services.
Local news networks broadcasted police bodycam footage of the raid. The video showed a terrified and tearful Fujisaki — dressed in a pink top and a black miniskirt — scrambling through a designer handbag to hand her passport to officers. In the background, the hotel bedsheets were visibly rumpled and tossed aside.
Investigations revealed Fujisaki was dispatched to the client by a prostitution syndicate, receiving her orders via the messaging app Line.
Following her arrest, Fujisaki was deported and is expected to be banned from entering Taiwan for three years. Meanwhile, a male accomplice hired by the syndicate to transport women and collect the illicit earnings has already been handed a three-month prison sentence by a local court. The raid was part of a broader, year-end crackdown on prostitution in Taipei.
Wealthy clients
Fujisaki, who debuted in 2024, quickly gained popularity in Japan for her 170-centimeter stature and “wholesome” image. However, her case sheds light on a growing and dangerous trend of young Japanese women engaging in “overseas migrant prostitution.”
Active AV actresses are rumored to be in exceptionally high demand among wealthy foreign clients, but experts warn of the dark reality behind the lucrative trips.
“Beyond arrests, there is a real risk of becoming a victim of severe crime — such as having your passport confiscated and being held captive,” the journalist noted, referencing a horrific incident in Dubai last year where an influencer was found battered and bloodied on the street after being forced into a human trafficking ring.
Considering the dangers of the international underground sex trade, Fujisaki’s deportation may have been a lucky escape.
