During subsequent questioning, investigative sources revealed that Yoshii elaborated on his motive, stating, “I had no money and was pessimistic about the future.”

Faced with a bleak outlook, the suspect reportedly added, “I couldn’t leave my son behind all alone.”

According to police, Yoshii’s wife passed away approximately 10 years ago. At the time of the incident, the suspect and his son were living together as a two-person household.

Investigators are treating the case as an attempted murder-suicide and are continuing to look into the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death.
