TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan police have arrested an elementary school teacher from Kanagawa Prefecture over the alleged secret filming of a female student on school grounds, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Mar. 19).
At shortly after 11:00 a.m. on March 6, Kotaro Fujii, 36, allegedly used his smartphone to take tosatsu (voyeur) footage under a female student’s skirt at his school in the capital.
Upon his arrest on suspicion of the Law Banning the Taking of Sexually Explicit Photographs, Fujii admitted to the charges. He said, “For about three years now, I’ve been secretly filming under women’s skirts on staircases in shopping malls and other places. I’ve done it about 100 times.”
On March 7, a woman reported to police at JR Ochanomizu Station in the capital that she might have been secretly filmed by someone. Police officers arriving at the scene examined Fujii’s smartphone and found images of the aforementioned female student’s underwear.
More than 50 other images believed to be of women secretly filmed were found on his smartphone.
