FUKUOKA (TR) – Fukuoka Prefectural Police launched an investigation after a man was found dead inside a vehicle parked in the parking lot of a convenience store in Okawa City on Saturday, reports TBS News (Mar. 14).
Shortly after 6 p.m., a customer who had parked their car in the parking lot discovered the man lying in another vehicle parked nearby. He was leaning across the driver’s seat to the passenger seat.
The customer went shopping, but upon returning the man was still there and appeared not to be breathing. The customer reported the incident to the Chikugo Police Station. Officers later confirmed the man dead.
According to police, the deceased man is believed to be in his 50s or 60s. There were no signs that his clothing had been disturbed. There were also no signs of external injuries to his body. Police noted that the driver’s side door was unlocked and ajar.
Police are working to identify the man. The case is being treated as the result of foul play or an accident.
