GUNMA (TR) – Prior to the anniversary of the killing of three persons at their residence nearly three decades ago, Gunma Prefectural Police are seeking the help of the public in locating the 56-year-old man wanted for the crime, reports Nippon News Network (Jan. 12).
On January 14, 1998, Hiroshi Kogure disappeared after killing Takeo Ishii, then 48, his wife and another relative at their residence in what is today Takasaki City.
Police concluded that Kogure was behind the killing after listening to eyewitness testimony.
On Monday, police officers handed out leaflets with information on the case to passersby at a shopping mall in hopes of locating the whereabouts of Kogure.

Police also released Kogure’s dental treatment records.
“We will never let this incident fade from memory, and we will continue to work on the investigation with a strong determination to arrest the suspect,” said Toshiaki Negishi, the chief of the Takasaki-Kita Police Station.
A reward of up to 3 million yen has been offered for information leading to the resolution of the case.
