KUMAMOTO (TR) – The mother of a boy who was severely beaten by a second boy plans to lodge a complaint with police after footage of the incident has spread on social media, reports TV Kumamoto (Jan. 9).
According to sources, both the assailant and victim are middle school students. The footage is believed to have been filmed in Kumamoto City’s Chuo Ward earlier this month.
The footage shows the woman’s son, wearing in black clothing, is seen being relentlessly assaulted by the second boy in white clothing. In the assault, the boy in white repeatedly stomps and kicks the first boy’s head. He also straddles, chokes and pummels him with his fists.
Many people are surrounding the two as the assault unfolds, but no one appears to try to stop it. At least one person could be heard yelling, “Die!”

“I’m just numb”
“I’m beyond angry, I’m just numb,” the boy’s mother said to the network on January 9. “I’m worried there might be other victims.”
According to the mother, her son was assaulted while trying to help a classmate who had been extorted for money.
“He had bruises all over his body and face,” the mother tells the network. “His nose was swollen and his forehead was swollen about 10 centimeters across, so he was taken to the hospital by ambulance. I think the 20 people around him who were filming the incident are just as guilty.”
The mother is in the process of consulting with Kumamoto Prefectural Police. The prefectural board of education has stated that it is “currently verifying the facts.”
