FUKUOKA (TR) – Fukuoka Prefectural Police have revealed that a sports club president has been accused of sexually assaulting multiple several girls he coached, reports the Nishi Nippon Shimbun (Dec. 27).
According to the indictment, the unnamed president, aged in his 30s, committed lewd acts with girls, aged 12 and 13, while on club trips.
He also filmed nude videos of the girls on his smartphone.
The Fukuoka District Public Prosecutors Office has indicted him on charges of non-consensual sexual intercourse and violation of the Child Prostitution and Pornography Prohibition Act.
At the time of his arrest, he stated that “Since [the girls] didn’t resist, I assumed [they] had consented.”
Fukuoka police have also arrested the suspect on suspicion of non-consensual sexual intercourse with two other girls.
The suspect is believed to have abused his position as a coach to make the girls obey him. According to investigators, the man told the victims, “If you don’t comply, you won’t be allowed to participate in sports tournaments.”
