TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of a pair teenage girls for confining a girl and forcing her into prostitution, reports Fuji News Network (Oct. 9).

Officers from the Tachikawa Police Station took the two girls, aged 15 and 16, into custody on coercion charges for forcing the victim, 16, to provide sexual services to 35-year-old office worker Toshiki Nakamura in July.

Nakamura met the victim through a “telephone club” dating service and paid her 20,000 yen. He was also arrested and charged with violating the Anti-Prostitution Law.

According to TV Asahi (Oct. 9), the two girls were living with the victim and her father in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture. After the two girls caused a disturbance in the home, they were expelled by the father. The two and an unspecified number of boys subsequently confined the victim to a van and forced to her engage in prostitution to compensate them for perceived “betrayal.”

“We did it for the money,” the two girls are quoted by police in admitting to the allegations.
