Arrest reflects Japan’s interest in ‘modified’ Korean men
April 29, 2009
This month’s arrest of the Korean manager of a transvestite club for employing staff without appropriate visas is evidence of Japan’s increasing interest in surgically alerted men from its nearby neighbor, reports Nikkan Gendai (Apr. 24).
Takeshi Kanai, 61, of no fixed address, was cited for staffing “new-half” club Shemale-X, located near JR Shin Okubo station in Shinjuku Ward’s Hyakunincho district, with two Korean employees holding short-term visas — a violation of labor laws.
The daily reports that the two staff are males: 33-year-old “Haru” and 37-year-old “Jun.” Police were alerted to the club after citing Jun on prostitution charges. He had been found loitering in the nearby Kabukicho entertainment quarter. Yet, Nikkan Gendai says, he couldn’t be arrested for soliciting same-sex prostitution, under Japanese law, and therefore was rung up for immigration violations. Read more
Odor eating undies eradicate organic emissions
April 29, 2009
A form of underwear designed to eliminate odor from passed gas is garnering attention, reports Weekly Playboy (May 11).
The product line is called Inoidore Shukan Shoshu, a series of deodorized undershorts and t-shirts developed by textile company Seiren, which is based in Fukui Prefecture. The garments hit the market on April 16, with a pair of men’s briefs going for a rather pricey 4,800 yen.
“Our company has developed various odor-erasing products in the past. But this one can reduce odor by 80 percent in 30 seconds,” explains Tadao Fujitsubo, the vice-director of the company’s R&D center, of the product’s purifying power, which is displayed graphically on the Inodore Web page and is said to diminish only slightly after 200 washes. Guys just wanna have fun — being gals
April 28, 2009
Wow, talk about writers willing to go the extra mile for a good story. Writing in Nikkan Gendai (Apr. 28), Kazuo Kajiyama relates his discovery of a “Joso date course,” a sex service where male customers call on the shop, dress up like females and take out another man, also in drag, for a topsy turvy tete-a-tete.
Newly opened, this particular business operates from a condo five minutes on foot from Yokohama station. Upon paying 40,000 yen for a 90-minute “date,” Kajiyama is introduced to “Junko,” age 28, who helps her customer select from the L-size women’s wardrobe hanging in the closet. “You should apply heavy makeup, it will make it harder for people to tell you’re a man,” he/she advises. Girls gone wild
April 26, 2009
Following this week’s bust of club B in Yokohama for employing female staff in revealing clothing, entertainment site Zakzak (Apr. 22) postulates that such extreme protocol is due to growing competition in the adult entertainment industry.
Hidetoshi Kawada, 38, of no fixed address, was cited by Kanagawa Prefecture police on April 20 for employing ladies positioned behind a counter who were attired in loose-fitting men’s shirts (no bra underneath), high-cut shorts, and pantyhose — a violation of the Law Regulating Adult Entertainment Businesses given the club’s licensing as an eating and drinking venue and not a locale of adult entertainment. Tactless oral report terminates guy’s goofy gustatory game
April 25, 2009
The April edition of the women’s magazine Ai no Taiken Special Deluxe, published by Takeshobo, has no lack of explicit personal testimonials. This particular submission, by the pseudonymous “Koto Chinjutsu,” appears in the “From the lady’s magazines” page featured each week in Shukan Bunshun (Apr. 30).
“Not long ago, while having sex with my boyfriend I was fellating him when he suddenly asked, ‘What does it taste like?’ His question sort of took me aback, but I did my best to describe the flavor of his penile emissions in the manner that would do credit to a gourmet restaurant reviewer. Golden Week looks good for getting it on
April 24, 2009
“Let’s not mince words. More than ever, this is the era for visiting soaplands (erotic bathhouses),” advises Shukan Asahi Geino (Apr. 30) in its lead-in. Why? Well first of all, because the female staff at such shops have been disciplined to observe the “customer comes first” rules drilled into salaried workers. And especially for middle-aged men, with all their aggravations great and small, this kind of treatment is really “indispensable.”
The good news is that during the upcoming Golden Week holiday period, which begins on April 25 for some and April 29 for others, a high-class Yoshiwara soapland has arranged for a budget “package” consisting of overnight hotel accommodations plus a 70-minute romp in the suds with a lovely soapstress, for a very affordable 30,000 yen, all-inclusive. Gals flash hard cash to $leep with $umo-$ans
April 23, 2009
The institution of host clubs, where Japanese women pay out rather exorbitant fees for the companionship of dashing young hunks, has been covered ad nauseam in the English media.
But the third installment of an ongoing series in Nikkan Gendai (Apr. 23) sheds light on a heretofore unfamiliar topic: that plenty of women are willing to pay big yen for the privilege of getting poked by a sumo wrestler.
Female groupies who clamor for a relationship with a strapping sumoist — and there are many — are known in the trade as sumo gyaru. It’s hard to generalize about their age, appearance and other attributes, although the daily tabloid notes that they often tend to be well fixed financially. Read more
Yokohama ‘girl’s bar’ busted, attire deemed inappropriate
April 22, 2009
The manager of an entertainment club in Kanagawa Prefecture was arrested this week for operating an inappropriately licensed bar staffed entirely by women, according to Sankei News (Apr. 21).
Hidetoshi Kawada, 38, of no fixed address, was cited by prefectural police on April 20 for staffing club B with ladies positioned behind a counter who were attired in loose-fitting men’s shirts (no bra underneath), high-cut shorts, and pantyhose — a violation of the Law Regulating Adult Entertainment Businesses given the club’s licensing as an eating and drinking venue and not a locale of adult entertainment.
The Sankei report says that the police found eight girls and an equal number of male customers inside the club just before 11 p.m. on the day of the arrest. The club started in October of last year and reportedly generates montly revenues of between 3.5 million yen and 4.5 million yen. Read more
Tokyo cops crack whip in fight vs. vice
April 21, 2009
TOKYO – A leather-clad female physically punishing a compliant male into erotic bliss is the usual image one conjures for BDSM, or bondage, discipline, sadism and masochism. Yet, to spend a Sunday afternoon with the ladies on the roster of La Siora, a high-end club based in Shinjuku, is to realize that the proper delivery of the craft’s techniques involves much more than wanton, grip-it-and-rip-it whipping.
A dominatrix, or mistress, must be proficient in handling a wide range of equipment, be able to read the body language of a “slave,” and ensure sanitary conditions at all times. But perhaps the greatest challenge involves the law.
Up until last year, La Siora, which opened in 1997, served its clientele out of an apartment building in Yoyogi, Shibuya Ward. Last April, a violation of the Law Regulating Adult Entertainment Businesses occurred during a session in which a dominatrix gave a 29-year-old male customer a sexual service not involving intercourse but still illegal given the in-house business arrangement and the club’s registration as deri heru (or delivery health, meaning an out-call service). The police, who made three arrests, had allegedly been alerted to the incident by nearby residents complaining of noise emanating from behind the closed doors. Read more
