OSAKA (TR) – Osaka prefectural police on Tuesday arrested a 22-year-old woman on suspicion of stabbing a man she met on an Internet bulletin board site the day before inside a love hotel in Sano City, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Dec. 26).

At around 2:30 p.m. on December 25, Iida arrived at a police station in Sano and claimed to officers that she had stabbed a man. A kitchen knife wrapped in a newspaper and covered in blood was discovered in her possession.

The victim had phoned emergency services seeking help at around 3:30 a.m. on the same day. Just prior, employees at the hotel witnessed the woman departing the premises via the hotel’s camera monitoring system. The victim subsequently fell unconscious.

According to the Iida, the pair met for the first time on December 24 after becoming acquainted on an “encounter” matchmaking site.
