AICHI (TR) – Aichi Prefectural Police launched an investigation after the discovery of two bodies that likely belong to a couple in their home in Nagoya City last week, reports NHK (June 24).
At around 4:30 p.m. on June 23, a welfare officer contacted police. “Neighbors say they can’t get in touch with the persons living in a house in Hakusan, Moriyama Ward. Please confirm their safety,” the officer said.
When the police and fire department personnel investigated, they found two bodies on the first and second floors.
The body in a room on the first floor was covered with a futon and had turned to a skeleton. Meanwhile, the corpse in a room on the second floor was found lying on its back near a bed.
Based on the condition of the bodies, police believe that the person on the first floor died first, followed by the person on the second floor.
According to police, the house is occupied by a couple in their 60s. Based on the clothes on the bodies, the body on the first floor is likely that of the husband and the one on the second is that of his wife.
Upon entry by authorities, the front door of the house was locked and there was no sign of any ransacking inside the house. Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths of the two persons.
