KANAGAWA (TR) – Two men have been arrested for allegedly breaking into a Yokohama electrical contracting company and making off with a safe containing approximately 5.5 million yen in cash, police announced, reports Nippon News Network (June 4).
Takushi Mimizuka and Naohiro Mayama are accused of infiltrating the company’s office in April of this year. According to investigators, the pair used a tool to smash the glass of the entrance door, reaching in to unlock it and gain entry.
The suspects had no prior acquaintance and reportedly met for the very first time on the day of the heist after applying for a “high-paying part-time job” (often referred to as yami-baito, or “dark job”)

Police have withheld information on whether the suspects have admitted to the charges. However, investigators revealed that the men were receiving step-by-step instructions via a highly secure, encrypted messaging app.
Authorities are now investigating the incident as a targeted hit orchestrated by a tokuryu ring, whose members anonymously give and receive orders via smartphone apps.
