AICHI (TR) – Aichi Prefectural Police have arrested three foreign nationals on suspicion of abandoning the corpse of an Iranian man at a hospital in Toyokawa City earlier this year following a suspected dispute over illegal drugs, reports Tokai TV (Aug. 15).
The suspects include Nader Karami, a 48-year-old Iranian national of unknown residence and occupation, and Fabio Masayuki Inahara, a 37-year-old Brazilian national residing in Kani City, Gifu Prefecture.
According to police, the trio allegedly conspired with others in April to dump the body of 41-year-old Iranian national Alireza Shahmoradi at the rotary entrance of Toyokawa City Hospital.
Investigators believe Shahmoradi was severely assaulted by multiple men at the Shinshiro Parking Area on the Tomei Expressway. Following the beating, he was loaded into a vehicle, driven to the hospital, and abandoned on the premises.
Police have not disclosed whether the suspects have admitted to the allegations.
Authorities suspect the fatal incident was triggered by trouble involving illegal drug trafficking between Shahmoradi and the suspects. Police are continuing their investigation and pursuing the whereabouts of other individuals believed to be involved in the crime.
