TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have re-arrested a 40-year-old public elementary school teacher after he allegedly rubbed his lower body against an 8-year-old student’s swimsuit, reports TBS News (June 3).
Kojiro Wakamatsu is accused of stealing the swimsuit of a third-grade female student from his classroom in July two years ago. Police allege he took the garment back to his residence in Setagaya Ward, where he defiled it.
During questioning on suspicion of causing property damage, Wakamatsu opted to exercise his right to remain silent. “I understand the facts regarding the arrest, but I will remain silent,” he reportedly told investigators.
The act came to light after officers discovered video footage of the incident on Wakamatsu’s tablet. The device had been confiscated when the teacher was previously arrested and indicted for secretly filming a different female student.
According to police, Wakamatsu used his smartphone to record himself committing the act with the swimsuit.
Tokyo police continuing its investigation to determine if the disgraced teacher has committed further offenses.
