TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 32-year-old female sex worker for allegedly defrauding a male by falsely telling him that she was stricken with leukemia, reports Fuji News Network (Dec. 2).
According to police, Mamika Takahashi, an employee at a commercial sex (fuzoku) establishment, is alleged to have deceived a the male customer, aged in his 60s, out of 10 million yen in 2022.
In carrying out the ruse, she falsely said, “My leukemia has returned. I only have one month to live.”
She also is believed to have forged hospital bills to gain the victim’s trust. The 10 million yen in cash was ferried over under the guise of covering those bills, police said.

Upon her arrest on suspicion of fraud, Takahashi generally admitted to the allegations. “I told him I only had three months to live. I also forged hospital bills,” she said.
Takahashi did not actually have leukemia. She met the victim in 2021.
In November, police arrested her for defrauding the same victim out of another approximately 30 million yen.
