TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 28-year-old company employee for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman he met on a dating app earlier this year, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Sep. 4).
Ayato Takahashi, a resident of Shinagawa Ward, is accused of non-consensual sexual intercourse with a woman in her 20s at his Kamiosaki apartment on the night of April 21. The two were meeting in person for the first time.
According to police, Takahashi rendezvoused with the woman in front of Meguro Station before coaxing her back to his residence. After chatting for approximately 30 minutes, Takahashi suddenly demanded a kiss. When the terrified woman attempted to flee, he allegedly pinned her down and assaulted her.
Upon his arrest, Takahashi denied the allegations. “It is not true that I forcefully pushed her down to do it,” he told investigators.
Tokyo police are currently investigating whether Takahashi has been involved in similar assaults against other women.
