Tokyo fire fighters not indicted over alleged rape of school girl at hotel

TOKYO (TR) – Prosecutors have decided not to indict two firefighters who were arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a teenage girl at a hotel in the capital last month, reports NHK (June 23).

The suspects include a 31-year-old firefighter assigned to the Akabane Fire Station and a 28-year-old senior firefighter from the Joto Fire Station.

The two men were accused of non-consensual sexual intercourse with the girl early on May 21 at the hotel, located in the Yushima area of Bunkyo Ward.

On Tuesday, the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office announced the non-indictment of the pair

The decision was “based on the content of the relevant evidence,” the office said.
