KANAGAWA (TR) – Police in Yokohama City have arrested a 42-year-old official of the Supreme Court for allegedly trespassing into a women’s restroom at a train station in an attempt to take tosatsu (voyeur) footage of women, reports TBS News (June 24).
Atsushi Fujii, an official working in the Supreme Court’s Financial Bureau, is accused of entering the women’s restroom inside the ticket gates of Shin-Takashima Station on the Minatomirai Line on a night in January.
According to police, a female commuter spotted Fujii walking into the restroom and followed him inside. She then noticed a hand holding a smartphone reaching over the top of a partition, aimed downward into an adjacent toilet stall.

Station staff were alerted to the incident and attempted to escort Fujii to an administrative office. However, the suspect broke away and fled the scene on foot. Police eventually tracked him down and executed the arrest after analyzing security camera footage from the station.
During police questioning, Fujii admitted to being inside the restroom but offered a bizarre defense regarding his actions.
“I have no memory of the time I entered,” Fujii told investigators.
Police are continuing their investigation, proceeding on the belief that the government official trespassed into the facility specifically for the purpose of voyeurism.
