According to Honjo Police Station, the suspect had an outstanding arrest warrant for transferring marijuana to another person. When officers approached him to question him, he crashed his car.

Officers used their batons to break the window of the vehicle, forcing it to stop. They detained him as he exited the vehicle. The suspect’s one-year-old child was in the passenger seat of the car that caused the collision.

During the investigation, police found kakuseizai (methamphetamine), cocaine and over one kilogram of marijuana inside the car. He was later indicted on suspicion of violating the Stimulants Control Act.
