TOKYO (TR) – A bullet was likely fired into the window of an apartment building here on Saturday night, police said on Sunday, with no injuries reported.

Police found a bullet shell near the sixth-floor apartment window, which had a single bullet hole, in a residence in Ota Ward, Tokyo, after responding to a call from the apartment manager saying “it looks like  window here was shot by a bullet” at around 6 p.m. on Saturday night, NHK reports.

No injuries were reported and the resident of the apartment was outside at the time, police said.

The case is being investigated as possible gunfire, and officers are hunting for any suspicious individuals who were in the nearby vicinity, police said.

A nearby resident reported hearing what sounded like a gunshot sometime around 10 p.m. on Friday, police said.
