AOMORI – The culling of 4,720 ducks intended for consumption was completed at a farm on Saturday after they were found to carry the H5 bird flu virus, prefectural officials said.
Aomori prefectural officials detected H5, a highly pathogenic avian influenza, in the ducks at the farm in Aomori City about 300 meters away from another farm where its ducks were found to be carrying the same virus on November 28, Fuji News Network reports (Dec. 4).
Both farms are taking measures to contain the infection, including the provision of disinfection stations.
