TOKYO (TR) – TV Asahi on Saturday announced on the site for the Super Sentai series “No.1 Sentai Gozyuger” program that actress Maya Imamori was stepping down from the show due to underage drinking. Her agency also said that they were terminating her contract.
The announcement from TV Asahi read, “We have been informed by Toei, the production company, that Maya Imamori has been found drinking alcohol while under the age of 20, and that they would like to have her step down from future productions. In light of the seriousness of the situation, we have agreed to her request to step down.”
The announcement continued, “We will work diligently with Toei to prevent a recurrence and will continue to implement strict compliance measures. We will also take appropriate action regarding future broadcasts. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and concern caused to our viewers and all concerned parties.”
Her agency also announced on its official website that they were aware of her underage drinking. “We have determined that this constitutes a serious breach of contract, and after careful discussions, we have terminated our management contract with Imamori Maya, effective today,” the announcement read.
The agency continued, “We deeply apologize for the great inconvenience and concern this matter has caused to the fans and other parties who support our agency and our talent. We take this matter very seriously and will work to further strengthen our compliance education and management systems for our talent, and to prevent recurrence. We ask for your continued understanding and support.”
Two-timing
Imamori made her gravure debut in tabloid Weekly Playboy in 2023. That same year, she was crowned the Grand Prix winner of “Miss Magazine 2023.” Since February of this year, she has been active as the first female Black Warrior in “No.1 Sentai Gozyuger.”
In September, some weekly magazines reported on Imamori allegedly dating actor Kosuke Asai and soccer player Yutaka Michiwaki simultaneously.
