KANAGAWA (TR) – Police in Yokohama City have launched a murder investigation after a man believed to be a foreign national was found fatally stabbed in an apartment.
According to Nippon News Network (Sep. 28), two suspects reportedly fled the scene barefoot.
On Sunday, police received an emergency call from a resident in a densely populated neighborhood, reporting that they could hear “about five people arguing.”
When officers arrived at the three-story apartment building, they encountered two foreign nationals standing outside. Using gestures, the pair indicated to police that someone had been stabbed inside the residence.
Upon entering the room, officers discovered an adult male collapsed and bleeding heavily. He had sustained a severe stab wound to his left flank, inflicted by a blade-like object.
The victim, who police believe is a foreign national, subsequently died from his injuries.
The neighbor who initially contacted authorities told police that they witnessed two men flee the apartment without shoes on, heading in opposite directions.
Investigators believe the two fleeing men were directly involved in the incident. Police are currently tracking the whereabouts of the barefoot suspects and are treating the case as a murder stemming from an interpersonal dispute.
