TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation after the discovery of three corpses following a car fire in Tama City, reports TV Asahi (Feb. 8).
At approximately 6:20 p.m. on Sunday, a 17-year-old boy found the passenger vehicle ablaze on a road in the Karakida area. Fire department personnel arriving at the scene extinguished the blaze after about one hour.
Two corpses of unknown gender were later discovered in the back seat. The body of a male was also discovered near the vehicle.
Officers from the Tama Chuo Police Station found a portable gasoline can at the scene.
Police suspect the incident was the result of foul play or a suicide.
