SAITAMA (TR) – The Saitama District Public Prosecutor’s Office has dropped a case against two medical interns and one medical student accused in the gang rape of a teenage girl in Tokyo last year, it was learned on Wednesday, reports TBS News (Mar. 29).

The prosecutor did not give a reason for the non-prosecution of a 32-year-old doctor at a hospital affiliated with Tokyo Jikei University School of Medicine, another doctor, also 32, at the Funabashi Central Hospital in Chiba Prefecture and a 25-year-old medical student at Toho University in the alleged gang rape of the girl at an apartment on Ota Ward last April.

The defendants had been accused of forcing the victim to drink large quantities of alcohol and sexually assaulting her.

The two doctors in the case still face charges in the alleged rape of another woman.
