FUKUOKA (TR) – Fukuoka Prefectural Police have arrested a 29-year-old man who is suspected of intruding into a women’s bathroom at Fukuoka Airport to take illicit images, reports the Mainichi Shimbun (Nov. 2).

At around 3:55 p.m. on October 11, Masayuki Takeda, a resident of Fukuoka’s Jonan Ward, allegedly trespassed into the bathroom and installed a coat hook containing a spy camera on a wall of a stall.

The hook and camera are widely available as a set via mail order. The base measures approximately 10 centimeters by three centimeters.

Takeda, who has been charged with trespassing and violating a public nuisance ordinance, admits to the allegations.

The matter emerged after a female employee of the airport noticed the camera and alerted police.

On November 1, police arrested Takeda after an examination of security camera footage taken in the area of the restroom.
