TOKYO (TR) – A popular bikini model has resigned from her agency following rumors that she engaged in enjo kosai, or compensated dating, reports Nikkan Sports (Jan. 30).

On Saturday, Shoko Takasaki, 22, announced on her blog that she was ending her business activities for Hotzline Promotion. She also thanked her fans for their support. The agency, which is based in Shibuya, confirmed the move the following day on its Web site.

In September of last year, a video uploaded to the Internet depicted a woman appearing to be Takasaki strolling with a man in the direction of a love hotel and receiving money. The video also showed mobile phone messages exchanged between the couple.

At the end of the month, Takasaki claimed on her blog that the video was “a fake.”

The following month, Takasaki participated in Nippon Television’s “Nittelegenic” contest, the annual event which showcases up-and-coming gravure idols.

On December 17, Takasaki halted her activity on social media.
