TOKYO (TR) – Actress and model Anri Sakaguchi is scheduled to make her adult video (AV) debut next month amid rumors about financial troubles, it was learned on Monday, reports Sports Nippon (Sept. 6).
On October 1, label Muteki will release her AV debut, whose contents are described as “soft” by a person familiar with the production.
Sakaguchi, 25, is the daughter of popular actress Ryoko Sakaguchi, who passed away in 2013 after a bout with colon cancer. Her step-father is professional golfer Tateo Ozaki.
The Tokyo native began appearing in a number of television series after entering the entertainment business in 2008. Two years ago, she had a starring role in “Honey Flappers,” which chronicles the lives of hostesses at a club in Tokyo’s Roppongi entertainment district. The following year, she was the cover girl of the final issue of fashion magazine Jiggy.
Rumors have been circulating in tabloids that Sakaguchi has been struggling with debts, possibly accrued via visits to host clubs, according to evening tabloid Nikkan Gendai (Sept. 6). “Her fee for the AV appearance will be more than 100 million yen,” an industry insider tells the paper. “But after she pays back what she owes she might have as little as 20 million yen left. This has led to speculation that she will appear in subsequent films.”
Sakaguchi’s agency, Avilla, confirmed with Tokyo Sports (Sept. 5) that she has resigned. Her name name does not appear on the agency’s roster on its web site.
Nikkan Gendai submitted a request for confirmation from Muteki but as of the evening of September 4 it had not received a response.
