HYOGO (TR) – Hyogo Prefectural Police on Monday revealed the arrest of an organized crime member following the discovery of pistols and ammunition in the latest incident involving weapons and criminal syndicates, reports the Asahi Shimbun (Nov. 22).

In June of last year, police found five revolvers and 50 rounds of ammunition in a storage room in Tatsuno City.

Investigative sources revealed that Motoyuki Yamazaki, a 52-year-old member of the Takumi-gumi, an affiliate gang of the Kobe Yamaguchi-gumi, has been arrested for violating the Swords and Firearms Control Law.

Yamazaki was prosecuted on Tuesday. Four other male and female persons have been arrested in the case.

The case is the latest in a string of seizures by law enforcement of weapons belonging to gang groups.
