CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police have arrested a member of right-wing group in the killing of an organized crime member in Sakura City last month, reports Fuji News Network (Aug. 18).
Over a 90-minute period starting at 11:10 on July 23, Hiroyuki Otsuki, a 46-year-old upper-level member of Ketsu Shinjuku, and six other persons, aged between 32 and 54, repeatedly beat the body of the gangster, 53, in the street and inside a parking lot. He was later determined to died due to shock resulting from blood loss.
Otsuki, who has been charged with manslaughter, denies the charges. “I was at the scene, but I didn’t touch him,” the suspect is quoted by police, according to the Sankei Shimbun (Aug. 19). Two other suspects also deny the accusations. However, the other four suspects admit to the allegations.
On the morning of July 24, a male acquaintance of the victim brought him to a hospital in a state of cardiopulmonary arrest. Medical staff then alerted the Sakura Police Station that he appeared to have been in a fight.
